We spend a lot of time talking about things like they are a chore.

You have to go to work. You have to cook dinner for your partner. You have to visit your parents. You have to exercise. You have to wake up early.

Now what if you changed just one word in the sentences above?

You don’t “have” to. You “get” to.

You get to go to work. You get to cook dinner for your partner. You get to visit your parents. You get to exercise. You get to wake up early.

The things you do every day are not burdens, they are opportunities. It’s important to remind yourself that the things we view as work are actually the reward. Change your day by changing just one word.

You don’t have to. You get to.

This is an adaptation/re-blog of a post written by one of my favourite bloggers, James Clear. I've posted it here because it really resonated with me and inspired me to change my perception on things I have to do versus things I get to do.
