Hi peoples,gregbeazley.com - Greg Beazley Mug Shot

Picture this:
Me, at Bondi, this Saturday, going surfing, IN A DRESS!

Disturbing thought, right?

Well, I’m prepared to sacrifice my dignity again this year and all for a cause I am very passionate about. The campaign is ‘Do It In A Dress‘, the charity is One Girl and the cause is to provide women and girls living in Sierra Leone access to education.

It’s not just education either. They’ve also created a social business called LaunchPad that offers affordable, biodegradable sanitary pads to women and girls living in rural areas. A lack of sanitary products has been identified as one of the reasons girls miss out on school.

LaunchPad - One Girl initiative

If you think this is a worthy cause or you simply want to see me in a dress…again, then would you be willing to donate the cost of a drink to my charity page?

The cause of One Girl is great, but I’m doing it in a dress this year because I hope my simple efforts can change a girl’s life for the better.

I have a couple of challenges this year…

(This is also massive open invitation for anyone else who would like to join me and the rest of the Surfers In A Dress team at 8:30am, Saturday, 6th October @ Bondi Beach – in front of Bondi Pavilion)So, it’s time for me (and you) to lose the wetsuit and surf in a school dress so the girls of Sierra Leone can wear one too.The Sydney Morning Herald will be sending a photographer to capture the event.

We’ve got the Let’s Go Surfing school onboard, as well as some of the guys from the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club. Plus, if we’re lucky, Uge from Aquabumps will make an appearance to grab some shots. So to say the least, it’s going to be HUGE!

To participate in the photo shoot you don’t need to be a registered participant in the Do It In A Dress campaign. You don’t even need to be a surfer – and you don’t even need to get wet! I just want to see you on the sand in a dress.

The main goal of the photo shoot is to generate awareness of the Do It In A Dress campaign.

I’ll buy all the necessary ingredients for an amazing salad. It will be photographed and tweeted and Facebooked etc so you can all laugh at my salad buying skills 😉

So, if you think you don’t think I have the guts to accomplish the challenges set above, help me prove you wrong by donating a couple of bucks so that your misery can help a young girl in Sierra Leone be educated.

Alternatively, by donating just a few dollars you can make yourself feel great by laughing at me in a dress, while having the satisfaction that a young girl in Sierra Leone will have the opportunity to get school education.

Or, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy because you’re saving your donation dollars for that Movember thing, then I will be just as grateful to you if you acknowledge the purpose behind the Do It In A Dress initiative by One Girl. Feel free to talk about the charity with your friends, Like, Share and Tweet something related to the cause, because ultimately, it’s the small efforts that we can all make that really make a difference.
